Andy ProcterTONIGHT will be a very special night for Accrington Stanley midfielder Andy Procter.

On his 200th appearance for the Reds, he will be awarded with the PFA Fans Player for August and September in front of his home fans.

It's all a far cry for the 24-year-old midfielder who joined Stanley from Great Harwood Town in February 2002.

He made his debut on March 2 later that year in the 0-0 draw against Gateshead at the International Stadium in front of 206 fans.

A bit different from the 13,346 Procter played in front of at Bradford on Tuesday night.

And the past five years have been a dream come true for the former Preston trainee.

He said: "I'm quite chuffed to reach the landmark. It's a decent achievement.

"To be honest, I didn't know anything about it until someone mentioned it to me.

"If someone had said then that in five years I'd be playing League football, I would never have believed them."

On his Stanley debut, he added: "I came on as a sub at Gatehead. We were in the UniBond Premier then and I remember it was just frenetic.

"I remember thinking that I hoped all the stadiums were as good as that one. It turns out they are not.

"There's been an awful lot of changes at the club in the five years I've been here but I feel there's still a lot of potential in the club."

His 200th appearance for the club just happens to coincide with one of the most productive periods of his career.

Procter already has four goals to his name, including the one he got in the 3-0 win at Bradford, which pushed Stanley into the top half of the table.

But he admits he would swap all the accolades for another goal and another three points when they take on Wrexham tonight.

And Procter revealed the Stanley players have an extra incentive He said: "It's a very winnable game and the lads are definitely up for it.

"And the boss has told us that if we get back-to-back wins, then we can run him and Jimmy Bell around the running track.

"We haven't won back-to-back games in a long time so we're due.

"And it would be nice to put the gaffer through his paces after all the bleep tests and runs we have to do."
