Michael Proctor is positive Reds can do the business

MICHAEL PROCTOR admitted that Wrexham will be going all out against Brentford to banish memories of the weekend defeat at Dagenham and Redbridge.
Wrexham dropped back into the
relegation zone after losing 3-0 at Dagenham and they host Brentford – another
team struggling at the wrong end of the table – at The Racecourse on Saturday.
Striker Proctor acknowledged that Wrexham would have to be wary of a backlash
from Brentford who parted company with manager Terry Butcher by mutual consent
yesterday, but the current leading scorer said the Reds have the belief they can
win.
"It is a big weekend, made bigger by the fact that we never got anything out of
the game at Dagenham," said Proctor today.
"I did not rate the performance, especially the first half. It was better second
half when we had a couple of half chances, but they killed us off with a sucker
punch at the end. We will be looking to put it behind us on Saturday.
"The manager has just left and I am sure they will be looking to impress if a
new manager is in place, or to impress a potential new manager who might be
watching. We have to be wary of that.
"But we have had a new manager come in here recently and we need to keep going
out looking to impress him.
"We will go into the game full of confidence that we can get three points."
Wrexham's last home match – manager Brian Little's first game in charge – ended
in a 2-2 draw against rivals Chester City and Proctor said the Reds have to go
out and build on the positives from recent performances.
"It was a decent enough performance against Chester in our last home game,"
added Proctor.
"I am looking forward to the game. Our last few performances have been quite
good, except for the first half at Dagenham.
"We are looking to continue that and to pick up three points, and push on
again."
