Players must stay positive says Gareth

GARETH EVANS today acknowledged the need for a positive reaction after seeing Wrexham slump to the bottom of the League Two table.
Manager Brian Little said players
have to stop feeling sorry for themselves following yesterday's 2-0 defeat
against Rochdale at The Racecourse – the Reds' fourth consecutive reversal.
And young centre-back Evans echoed his manager's sentiments.
"Four defeats in a row is not exactly great form and nobody wants to be bottom
of the league," said Evans today.
"But we are down there now so we just need to get our heads down and stop
feeling sorry for ourselves, and get back up the table.
"No-one can mope around. Everyone has got to keep working hard in training and
trying to be confident to take us up the league.
"The gaffer keeps saying the whole squad is in it together, even the lads who
are not involved. Everybody has got to have the mentality that we are going to
be strong and we can push up the league.
"We are at home on Saturday and hopefully we can improve, and improve for the
fans because they have not had the best time recently."
Substitute Evans was brought into the defence for the start of the second half
yesterday, meaning centre-back Steve Evans moved into an attacking role.
"It was a bonus for me getting on the pitch and playing 45 minutes rather than
10 minutes at the end," added Evans.
"The gaffer tried to mix it up a bit and put Steve in attack but unfortunately
it did not work for us.
"We had a couple of chances when it was 1-0 and there was a goal-line scramble
in the second half but I guess when you are down there those kind of things
don't go your way.
"Everyone's a bit low on confidence at the moment but we will come into training
today and go again, and get ready for the next game."
