EVANS has vowed to “put right” last season’s relegation misery by helping
Wrexham get back in the Football League at the first attempt.
The Wales defender re-signed with the Dragons on a one-year contract yesterday
and said he was confident the Dragons would gain automatic promotion from the
Blue Square Premier next term.
Evans said: “Wrexham is my hometown club and obviously I’m chuffed to sign again
for them. I just want the chance to put right what went wrong last season.
“I’m confident we’ve got a good chance of promotion next season and I’m hoping
we’ll go straight back up.”
Of his international hopes the 29-year-old, who has played six times for Wales,
added: “I’ll just have to wait and see. I’ve just got to work hard and keep
playing, and hopefully I’ll still be involved. I want to still play for Wales –
and like I say, hopefully we’ll go straight back up so we’ll be back in the
League again the next season.”
