Are the student flat's days numbered?

I still question why you would tender for exactly the same number of beds as Wrexham Village if it wasn't to replace them.

It can't be for that based on the statement. The statement notes the move is due to "increased demand for accommodation". So maintaining status quo would not solve that.

It also does note that numbers are up in part due to "increased awareness of our city", which I take as a nod to the show. Makes sense more students would want to come, and you need to add housing inventory, not change it's location. It's a negative positive. Can't get the land we want, but it's because all boats are rising in the rising tide, including the University. Good, but still an aw shucks.

There have previously been cases where there's a big difference between what the university says versus what it actually does. They might be telling the truth, but I'd treat their statement with caution.

Yes, their statements can be a real University Challenge

Oh. Yeah that would matter.

My old school, Yale Grammar Technical consisted of huts around that car park at the end of the Tech. They aren’t there in the pic. The school at the top right was built whilst I was there. My last 6months was spent in it. I left in 63 ish so that photo was taken as you say later on. Those trees weren’t there in 63
Yes I was a pupil at Yale Grammer School soon to be called Yale high School and watched the new school being built by Cape UK. I was 12 yrs old when we all moved to the new school and recall taking my late brother to see the new stands being built at the Racecourse and the trees were in then and he was about 11yrs old that was 51yrs ago .

I went there for the first year it was opened in the huts around the tarmac square that was part of the Tech. It was offered as an alternative to Grove Park , if you passed your 11 plus, and was called Yale Grammar Technical School. The idea being that if you wanted to do a more technical minded education with a view to being an engineer or such then this was the place for you. Doctors, teachers, solicitors? go to Grove Park. I remember that there was a cohort attached to us that had failed 11 plus but at 13 got another bash at it. Approxwhere the trees are there were some brick ruins, there was a short cut we took, turn right in to Crispin Lane, stop at the sweet shop that was in part of what was to become Dickens. Then carry on down Crispin Lane to approx where the trees are and cut across to the Tech. There were loads of rabbits there and the local scallies would be sending ferrets down the holes under the ruins as we passed. There was a memorable year when we used our lunchtime helping to clear snow off the Kop for a night game!

according to the latest Wrexham AFC Fanzone video on YouTube, there's speculation that the Flats and the land are up for sale and the club will finally get some additional lands to expand the racecourse properly. any truth to this?
