With the connections between North America and the Celtic lands. How about a Celtic Conference in MLS?
The Welsh sides Cardiff City, Wrexham, Newport County, and Swansea City could be in the Celtic Conference with the big 8 Scottish sides of Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Dundee United, Dundee, Hibernian, Heart of Midlothian, and Motherwell. Plus the biggest sides from Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. Plus perhaps a side from Cornwall, the Isle of Man, and sides from Brittany.
The sides in the Celtic Conference could play sides in Europe 20 times in the regular season, plus 12 times against sides in Eastern North America. Then at the end of the regular season the leading teams would play in the playoffs.
Other ideas could be
1. A Celtic North America Cup - of sides who play in the MLS and the Scottish, Welsh, and Irish leagues.
2. Invite all Cymru Welsh Premier sides, all Scotttish Championship sides, Wrexham reserves, and French lower division sides as guests in the English FA Trophy.
3. Invite all Scottish Premier sides not in Europe, all Cymru Welsh Premier sides, and selected sides from North Western France, and Belgium as guests in the English Football League Trophy.
4. A women's USA Celtic Nations Club Cup - A trophy between NWSL, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish Sides at women's football.
5. A Celtic North America Super Cup. The champions of MLS, Scotland, Wales, both Irish leagues in a Cross border Cup.
6. Invite Scottish, Welsh, Irish and MLS sides as guests in the English FA Cup.
