Probably just including Wrexham in the headline for clicks, but I think it's poor to tar Wrexham with the same brush as Birmingham and the others.

We're spending far far less and due to our revenue growth our spending as a proportion of income os probably pretty reasonable isn't it?

We are, you're right. It's lazy journalism really.

Yes we might be spending a lot, but the revenue we're making is significant - far more than some other League One teams could imagine.

Suppose we're in a position to be got at by some aren't we unfortunately šŸ˜’

We are clearly ruffling a lot of feathers

And the journalists / football hierarchy really donā€™t like it all so trying to muddy the waters by saying we are over spending

It was fine for Fulham , Blackburn , Cardiff , Wigan to get huge financial investment - but just not usā€¦hence the resentment

We all need to learn to be a bit less reactive to stuff we read about the club in the media. Up until a few years ago any mention of Wrexham in a broadsheet newspaper or on Sky Sports News would be worthy of note and would spark discussion on Red Passion (I remember how big a deal it was when Football Focus did a show from the Racecourse ahead of an FA Cup game, etc) but we could probably find two or three things a day at the moment which reference the club, some of which would be badly researched or just 'opinion' based on no real substance, we need to adjust our response accordingly.

A lot of the criticism of us is based on jealousy, but make no mistake our fans would have been acting the same way if another club had won the R&R lottery.

I also think a key aspect of these spending regulations is while pitched as being about fairness and stopping another Bury. They have always basically been about the big clubs protecting themselves and pulling away the ladder.

I always thought what Dave Whelan did at Wigan was great and those memories of winning the FA cup will live with those fans forever. I think the system should allow other teams to do a Wigan with some kinds of safeguards to stop them doing a Bury.

Hopefully our legal team keeps an eye on any libellous shite like that

I've been saying this for a few years - nobody seemed upset when L1 Fulham signed Chris Coleman from Blackburn for Ā£2.8 million, as they effectively bought their way to the Premier League.
