Fantastic signing, especially on a free.

I’m not too concerned about us not doing business yet, but there does seem a perceived perception where if you wait until the end of the window you’ll automatically sign players of increased quality.

I’m not having that Jack Marriott was the best striker we could’ve got in January. He’s scored 30 goals in 3 seasons, including the the 1 he scored for us. Surely there was a better striker than a 10 goal a season striker available to us in the whole of the month?

Obviously on the flip side, waiting until late August allowed us to sign Evans on a free transfer.

Just hope we’re not passing on good players on the hope we can sign better players later on.

Exactly. The best signings are not just available towards the end of the window and the best signings aren't all available at the beginning of the window either. There are so many scenarios at play that the quality signings will be spread out throughout the window. Some of the best will be those that get snapped up early. Other better players will hold out for the best offer and might only become available towards the end.

It must be frustrating being one of the few that haven't signed anyone yet but you all know that you will make some decent signings eventually.

Morrell still recovering from his knee op in January so that might potentially slow that one.

We should have been after bate, good player who still has further to improve. Instead we’ve likely been ****ing around trying to get unrealistic signings that aren’t going to come off. I hope I’m wrong though and there is a bigger organised plan in place

How do you know who we have been trying to sign? Bate feels to me like a hipster choice of lower league football social media commentators, I wouldn’t have been happy or sad to sign him, I think we can probably get better.
