League One 24/25 Updates

I think we all have that built in fear of us wrexhaming it after a good start . People are of the opinion we will come straight back down if we are promoted and that’s a possibility. I’m more worried if we don’t go up this time , Bolton , Huddersfield Barnsley and Charlton could come good next year and we will also have the relegated championship teams to contend with . I would have taken play offs this season but now we are 3rd this is surely an excellent chance to go for it .

Our club developed player is Max Cleworth and before that it was Jordan Davies, as they are over the u21 when we registered them in the 22, we haven't had to register a u21 in the matchday squad as of yet.
I believe that you can also have a u21 development player as the 7th sub on the bench without registering them in the 22 if you don't do what your team and ours have done else you would only get 6.
If you register an U21, who is club developed, in your 22 man squad then you don't have to have them in your match day squad to get the full 7 substitutes. The only reason (that I can see) for not registering an U21 in the 22 man squad is if you're desperate to fill all 22 spots with over age players and none of them are club developed. I see no other reason to hamstring yourself to 6 substitutes/naming an under age player (who you may not deem ready to play) every week.

We have registered all 22 spots with over age players, it's just that our club developed player/s are now over age, Max Cleworth is our current one. In League 2 we had Jordan Davies and Jake Bickerstaff (over age) as our club developed players (they are out on loan currently) and Max Cleworth wasn't in the 22 as he was considered u21 for last season.
Club developed players can be over 21 years old, so we still get all 7 subs.

Looking at remaining fixtures the prospect of 2nd place in the league and auto promotion seems so far away some really tough fixtures to play and more away games than home have to be a big change in fortune to achieve this, plus Wycombe will have to lose a few games to give us a chance, can't see it personally but if we make the play offs we can't complain I suppose but I hate them give me the 3rd spot promoted idea the way it used to be.

Until the next time Huddersfield win 5 in a row and Stockport gets 1 point in 4 matches.

I think it’s a two team race between Wycombe & Wrexham unless one of them implodes.

It’s really in Wrexham hands now. Can Wrexham find their early season defensive form and get enough goals from their new strikers? Or will road form and inconsistency doom them? 2nd place is there for the taking. Talent and depth wise Wrexham has all it needs.
That a new fan right there. Never experienced the diverse ways we can f*ck promotion up from better positions than this.

I know what you mean about ‘wrexhaming it’ but not this squad. We’re still starting games with 6/7 players from the ‘Notts County season’. These lads and our coaching staff can handle the pressure. If we do miss out it won’t be because we bottle it. Our strength in depth will see us to a top two finish, I’m really confident we’ll do this.

You would surely expect Wycombe to lose a few games with nearly 1/3 of the season left, one of those games we play them ourselves so great chance to eat in to the deficit. However I also think it’s wrong to just focus on wins and losses, as draws can be a killer in a tight race.

Does not hold much relevance to talk about the teams last 13 games. There has been a bit of a change since then, so no one knows what the team is now.

Fingers crossed.
Correct, looking forward to Northampton. It's business time now, earlier than last year and more difficult due to only two going up automatically, but we turned it on last season when needed, now is that time again with an incredibly tough 6 weeks.
