Loaned Player Thread

If you were Dalby and you were recalled you would just see out your contract, knowing you could then sign for someone else on a free in the summer. And thus potentially get a bigger signing on fee than if a club had to pay a transfer fee for you in Jan.
This is true if his intention is to leave Wrexham.

I'm just suggesting that recalling him makes negotiations easier for us as we will be the only ones able to talk to him until the summer. Of course, if he wants to leave or drive up his price, he can just wait until the summer for all negotiations and potentially bag a bigger contract. He does run the risk though that his value isn't as high as he thinks it is and he doesn't get the big offers he hopes for, from us or anyone else.

This may end up being a bit of intriguing business when all is said and done.

I think the risk is his stock goes down (or he get’s injured) and he isn’t in as good a negotiating position in the summer.

Aren’t there rules in place for players to agree future contracts with prospective clubs once January arrives?

As stated above will be interesting to see if there is any extension clauses that might affect that.

One thing I think many of our fans missed with Dalby is how young he is. No idea if he was a future with us (I suspect not) but it’s perfectly fair to consider the fact that he is very much still developing and may not have reached his peak yet.

I know that editing can create the impression you want to show, but Dalby looks to be brimming with confidence in all of those clips.
This loan has done him a world of good and is making fans and clubs sit up and take notice of him.
I don't know where he will end up, but pound to a penny he's not going to be at Dundee Utd next season

This is a good question, and I don't know the answer to it. If this is true, it will certainly spice things up a bit.

He's only 25 and getting his first taste of regular first team minutes at a higher level of competition. Say what you will about the Scottish Prem, it is certainly a solid step up from the National League, and Dalby is more than holding his own.

Ultimately, his current form will certainly give everyone something to think about rather than dismissing him outright.

He looks fit as a fiddle, as well. I don't remember him ever looking as strong as he does in that footage.
Hope the lad does well wherever he ends up. Has grasped the opportunity that has opened to him and is makiing the most of it.
