Luke Armstrong - A good miss?

Just noticed an old side banner on YT referencing the Armstrong shambles at the end of the transfer window.

Tbh, I'd forgotten all about it, seems so long ago now. Out of interest I checked his stats.

Granted, he's playing in a mid-table side, and he'll also no doubt be feeling a bit 'detatched' after what happened, but I remember being a bit underwhelmed and not convinced when we were linked with him - especially with the 'reported' transfer fee....half a million??

But he's only scored once all season (back in August) and just two assists!

Was it a blessing it fell through?

He can’t get in the Harrogate team at the moment. Bullet dodged.

Was annoyed at the time but it’s worked out well for us.

Still feel we’re one short upfront but Armstrong is not what we need, especially when we have three other target men (term used loosely for one of them). Hopefully we go for pace in January, I’d have rather we stuck with Hanlan in hindsight.

Surely we won’t break the bank on a striker that’s not even playing.

Personally I think he’ll sign Jan 1st. Think the main reason he’s not playing is he’s coming here, whether or not that’s a good thing time will tell.

I think Armstrong is nailed on for Jan , but i personally wouldn’t go for him.
With Dalby, Waters, Fletcher leaving in the summer , I’m sure we will add another in the summer.

There's no point crying over spilt milk anyway.
He may have slotted nicely into our setup or he may have been a bust, we'll never know (unless we try again in January)
We've ended up in a nice position with Fletcher regardless.

He’s way to expensive for what we’d get from him. But I’m certain due to it being our fault it fell through, we’ll have a “gentlemans” agreement that we buy him in January.
