Manchester Utd etc.

We're seeing the same habit at gigs, festivals and nights out. The public has changed its habit.

The public go large for one or two things a year and won't spend on a maybe.

Look at how much it costs to see Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Oasis, etc, they are all over £100 but a smaller up and coming artist may cost less than £20.

So Wrexham, Man U, Spurs, etc are following the public trend.

What difference would a roof on the Kop make to current attendances? I have to think that this is a big factor, together with the extra tenner, in why there have been spare seats.
Agree. Having no roof or sides to protect fans from winter weather is a major factor in my view.

The novelty value is certainly rubbing off. Lately I’ve offered spare tickets (in a covered stand) to people who were begging for tickets one or two seasons ago, and had no takers. Had to put them on the resale and only 1 sold then. The population within a 30 - 45min drive just isn’t that large and we’re competing with some other bigger clubs. I think once the new stand is built we’ll fill the ground for most games as the general experience will be better but still struggle mid week. Pricing will be important, people are willing to splash out for one offs but high ticket prices on a regular basis will have a massive impact on regular watchers (which are the supporters you most need to keep).

Sky showing every evening game, isn't going to help gates, but that's the downside of the deal with the EFL.

Going back to our promotion of 1978 and 20k were turning up at the last few home games. The first game of the new season in the promised land we were playing Brighton who were attractive opposition then. 12,000 fans turned up when everyone was expecting 20,000. We do not have the population or attraction to regularly get crowds of over 12,000.
14,000 actually :-

It was prime holiday time but your point still stands.
