Foster 8 - distribution superb (our players almost looked shocked to receive the ball as they did from the keeper). He oozes class. What a signing this could turn out to be

Mendy 6 - looks vulnerable defensively and I can see Notts targeting him when we play them. Really don’t get the excitement about him.

Barnett 9 - what a performance. I thought he struggled last week. Poor for the goal last week and looked a bit one dimensional. Complete contrast to todays performance! Caused all sorts of problems for York. Really good.

O Connell 8 - another classy performance. The quality has moving the ball forward from out of the defence is really impressive and not much gets past him. Excellent.

Tozer 7 - Solid performance. His throws cause the opposition problems and he’s a cool head at the back. Read the game well yesterday.

Tunnicliffe 7 - just solid. He’s been another huge signing this season.

Cannon 8 - really enjoy watching him play. Quick feet and always wants the ball. He’s made a huge difference in midfield since TOC got injured.

Jones 8 - he’s everywhere! Great strike for the goal and constantly in the opposition faces. His link up play was good as well yesterday.

Lee 8 - the bloke really makes us tick in the final third. Moves the ball at pace and constantly looking for the ball. Great finish for his goal. This midfield 3 is as strong as we’ve looked all season in the middle. Be interesting to see where TOC fits in when he’s available?

Palmer 7 - basically takes 2 players out of the game when the ball goes up to him. Don’t agree with the notion on here he’s ‘poor in the air’. Very often we pick the second ball up without him needing to win a header. In contrast, Dalby probably wins more flick-on’s but they aren’t always directed to our own players. Mullin and palmer link up superbly.

Mullin 7 - had a really good chance second half you expect him to bury but stretched the York defence. His movement is a joy to watch…

Really enjoyed the game yesterday. Foster signing has given us all a lift and hopefully we now have the final piece in the jigsaw to see out the remaining games at the top of the table. Atmosphere was good yesterday as well.

On to the women’s match this afternoon. Looking forward to sitting in the Tech end for the first time since the refurb last year - and seeing another Wrexham team lift a trophy!!!

Really not understanding the low Palmer marks. He gets through so much work for the team and is always involved in the build up to good chances.Had a better game than Mullin tbh.

I'm sure he will but Mendy will have to up his game against Nott's that Aaron Nemane is a tricky winger he creates a lot of Langstaffs chances.

Spot on for me - thought Foster was absolute class.

I quite like Mendy but thought he had a poor game yesterday.

Foster 8 - thought he gave the defence confidence and they responded positively. Apart from one aberration, thought he was class.

Barnett 9 - if you didn’t rate him excellent, I suggest you make an appointment with an optician. His display, especially in the first half was as good a wing back display as we’ve seen since Carlos.

O Connell 8 - sheer class & good feet for a big man. His link up play with Barnett was excellent and he adopted the mantra of none shall pass!

Tozer 7 - the VNL libero of the year. A great leader also.

Tunnicliffe 7 - what a player he has been since he got in the team. Another master stroke by Super Phil Parky.

Mendy 6 - not his best game yesterday but never gave up.

Cannon 8 - it’s taken him a bit of time but he’s finally at a level that he showed with Stockport last year. Seems to revel in the central role.

Jones 8 - a Rolls Royce of an engine and never gives up. Deserved his goal (ok an og) but his work rate is phenomenal. Well done JJ

Lee 8 - must be a nightmare to play against, one minute picking up the ball & running at defences & the next he’s in behind the back line. We are a different proposition when he plays.

Palmer 6 - was a bit marmite yesterday. One minute looked totally invested in the game, the next h3 didn’t look as if he could be arsed. Ollie’s been great for us since he signed and we need a couple more D&R performances by him. It’s not just about scoring goals as he offers so much more.

Mullin 7 - such a clever player for us. I know he is highlighted for his goal scoring feats but his clever running and opening up spaces for others marks him out as a special player. Is a joy to watch.

Parky and Parkin have played a blinder this week, the signing of Foster has given the place a huge lift (not that it needed it) together with calm interviews and a focus on the next game all the time.

MOTM was really difficult because of the many outstanding performances but I had to give it to Barnett.

O’Connell was a close 2nd.

.

I actually think the fans needed that lift from the Foster signing as the nerves of the fans concern me more than the nerves of the players. You look at times this season when the fans were screaming to buy Brad Walker when TOC was injured, PP ignored the fans and was probably right. On this occasion i think PP and the fans were on the same wavelength.
