Parky’s 1000th

That's the first time I've heard something definitive about Marriot. 'Back in a couple of weeks'.
Parky is generally vague, but his language is measured and usually precise.
So a couple of weeks from yesterday is 18 January.
Just misses the Shrewsbury game, back for Birmingham?
That's much better than I've been anticipating, and it's quite likely that I'm reading too much into his words :D, but I feel very good about that.
That sounds about right, hasn't he been back on the grass a couple of weeks? Touch wood with no adverse reaction to some running he is likely to be back in full training here on in. Shane the PV game has probably come a bit too early for a cameo.

The interviews from yesterday are all blurring together for me, but I also found interesting that he expects Evans and JJ to play on Tuesday, and he had planned for Bolton get more minutes, but his calf injury hasn't responded like they would like. BTW, if someone had told me that Luke Bolton was younger than Barney and TOC, I would have never believed it.

After they said Jack is 'back on the grass' I expected him to be back for the Birmingham match and it would seem I was right - hopefully :D

Just listened to TalkSport who did a piece on Parkinson’s 1000 games.

They mentioned that “officially” his 1000 games is not recognised as the League Managers Association do not count the games he managed in the National league, only games managed in the top four leagues.

Sounds a bit unfair that as independent of anything he has managed a football team for 1000 games and deserves recognition for that.

Has it ever been stated or insinuated whose idea it was to go after Parky in the first place? Rob and Ryan wouldn’t have known him from a hole in the wall unless fans were talking him up on social media lol…I’d assume it was Harvey, but maybe Humphrey or someone else at the club broached it first?

Here are the qualifications for the LMA's 1000 club:

The NL matches don't count but the FA cup matches played when in the NL do and possibly the FA Trophy and the biscuit cup as well. LOL
There are currently only 38 managers in the club.

Although the timelines don’t line up 100%, Shaun Harvey was former chairman of Bradford and is/was good friends with their owner whilst PP was there.

Also Les Reed - Parky said this shortly after joining us - clearly knew eachother before through Charlton or the FA somehow.

“He is a very well respected person in the game, someone I have known before, and I am looking forward to working with Les.

I believe Reed has took a step back in the last year or so and doesn’t really do much with us nowadays.

Sounds mad when they allow managing a women's team and a full time team in the pub league that is Scotland to count.
