Howard 7 - didn’t have a great deal to do but gets a point for the assist.

Cleworth 7 - a couple of slips but untroubled. Great to see him stand up for himself.
O’Connell 7 - carried and played the ball well. Almost a costly slip but largely untroubled.
Brunt 8 - one word imperious

Barnett 6 - strangely poor crosses from him today
Dobson 7 - ran, chased, harried, tackled and put us on the front foot as often as possible.
James 6 - Parky must see something but I’d prefer Dobson in the middle and Cannon on the right.
Rathbone 8 - all round display of craft and energy. Add a goal and he is rightly the MOTM
McClean 6 - poor deliveries and strangely quiet.

Rodriguez 7 - a display full of guile and craft. Keen to see him and Smith work together more.
Smith 8 - great to see a guy stay on his feet and get his rewards - great goal. Decent all round display.

Subs
Longman - had a couple of decent runs and got involved from his first minute
Fletcher - should have scored but again involved from his first minute
Marriott - struggled to make an impact but ran the clock down well.

We could make a half decent League I team of those who were left out!

Great win and made Northampton look poor.

Spot on ratings for me - funnily enough was thinking exactly the same about Barny - love him, I really do but recently there have been too many back passes instead of taking defenders on - which he is really good at.

His crosses were a wayward today.

Spot on.

Dobson, Rathbone and Brunt were the only standouts for me.

Everyone else was fine.

Matty James and McClean are the two that leave you wondering if a change could be better.

Evans, Longman, Cannon, would have probably added something today.

Barnett just had a tough matchup today from what I saw. It was a quick left back who shut him down. Maybe with Cannon operating on that side with him it would have worked out better.
 
Thought a few times max could of put the ball between their left back and centre backs for barney to run on to. Seemed to be alot of space between then. Or even over the top when max received the ball back from barney.

Barney has not looked the same player since we gave him his new contract lets just hope he can find the early season form.

I wonder whether it’s because teams are now a lot tighter on him? Doesn’t seem to have as many 1 on 1 opportunities as he did earlier on in the season.

Teams will have obviously worked on stopping him, after the form he was in.

The problem today was he got in round the back a few times but his ball in was lacking. It maybe he was rushing things a bit more or unsure of the runs the new forwards would make which distracted him from the quality he has shown these last 2 years.
