Slops new manager

Sorry if I missed this elsewhere, but can someone explain the hatred for Shrewsbury among Wrexham supporters? I see that they are just down the road so, like Chester, I assume it is a proximity and relevant football history thing.

I posted a piece about it (the Salop rivalry) on the sticky thread a few months ago if it helps.

Depends on where you're from, I guess. People from Wrexham and north of hate Chester more than anyone, whereas us from south of Wxm is a more hatred towards slops.

For my hatred of these sister shagging tw**s, I grew up in Telford which is 20 minutes from Slops, they think they are above everything and upper class. Look down their noses at anyone else in the county and the county paper wouldn't cover anything else except them.

Ricketts was building a good team here with limited resources, got his head turned too soon.

We’ll never know if he would have stayed had the WST not made some strange decisions before the Newport cup tie.

We were in a good position in the league, and may well have got promoted to L2 that season, and if we had then maybe Hartlepool would have reaped the rewards of R&R…..fate plays it hands in many ways.
Ricketts did no more or no less than most of our managers in the NL. The team was going in the right direction on a limited budget, on less budget than Saunders but more than some others but he was fortunate to inherit a squad with a miserly back four providing a platform to build a promotion challenge in his first season. A back four that had been recruited with the assistance of the the iniative of 'build the budget'.

It's really pathetic isn't it?

Goes beyond friendly rivalry with some - expressing hatred and vitriol from behind their keyboards.

It would do them a lot of good if they got out a bit more and met people from different towns and backgrounds.

Simply said I hope they get relegated. Not sure that’s hatred or vitriol but there we are.

Quite like Shrewsbury as a place to be fair.
