Discussion thread for this episode as and when it drops later...

Caution this thread will contain spoilers for those who have not watched it

Description...

A new football season begins as the town, the team and owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney prepare to welcome King Charles III.

I predict Paul Mullin won't partake in said visit but Ollie Palmer will be lapping it up.

As advertised on the illuminated pitchside ad hoardings around Hampden Park tonight !!!!! Yes R and R's next programme there for all to see. Displays Disney's 'new season'

The advertising at the Scotland V England game suggest the episodes are “streaming now”.

I assume this isn’t yet the case?

Interesting new theme song - seems like whatever one they pick works somehow (and it's been three different ones to this point) and also a nice quickie recap of the 'previous' season to start with.

Seemed like they jumped around even more than they did last season in this episode - in part to get the royal visit stuff in the premiere and partly to give you the double-barreled reality check at the end with the big early loss followed by the news they wouldn't get the Kop funding after the royal visit. They did at least keep the team-related stuff in chronological order though, even though I wasn't following in real time at that point I knew of the early-season games they spotlighted (Eastleigh and Chesterfield).

LOL at Wayne having to shoo off tourists while he was doing an interview and redirect them to the food truck. Nice little sidebar with the volunteer tearing down the Kop stands and selling/donating them to charity...I'm sure most of you will get a kick of seeing Dixie McNeil's cameo during that scene too.

Season 2 not yet showing up on my Disney plus!? Any ideas why this could be?

Post edited as I found the answer: 8am on the 13th september. Guess I’ll have to wait a couple more hours

Surprised during the royal visit they didn't work in the connection with Ollie Palmer's dad being a bodyguard.

It may have been 250 years, but Rob bristling at the bullshit that is proper etiquette for meeting the King of England tells you everything you need to know about Philly (my hometown). Night and day to Hollywood Ryan. Glad everything went smoothly on the day.

Poor Lainton.

Poor Lainton.

I really felt sorry for the guy, as his recovery physical therapy seemed extremely uncomfortable. No wonder it is taking him so long to get back.

On a bit of an unrelated note, and not something all of you l;ovely folks in the UK have to worry abopuyt, but I tried watching on FX here in the states and there were so many @#$!$ comercials! It almost made it unwatchable. (NOT a good experience)

I'll just wait another half a day to watch episodes uninterupted on HULU next week instead.

It was AWFUL! (The viewing experience, not the episode itself ;0)

Is it one episode a week coming out on Disney in the UK at the moment?
