Welcome to Wrexham S2E1 "Welcome Back to Wrexham" discussion thread (spoilers)

The chronology is all over the shop in the first episode, cutting between the Eastleigh game (August), royal visit (December), Chesterfield game (August) and Levelling Up bid decision (January). It made it a bit jarring to watch for me.

The opening episode of Series 1 was the same in terms of jumping around. That started with R&R's papal visit to Wrexham which was late October v Torquay.

That was just one flash forward though, I don’t think they jumped around any more than that in the original opener.

Usually injured players are out of sight, out of mind here so the Lainton rehab stuff definitely came across raw and real. I didn’t know Howard had played for Phil before at Bolton, interesting. Almost can’t blame the fan for wanting a new keeper already after two of those goals they showed, yikes. Definitely there’s more twists to come with the goalie situation though.

Solid first episode.

Good to remember that as good as the end of the season was we started a bit slowly on the pitch, and then the levelling up issue etc. As Fez mentions the chronology isn't really as portrayed but I suppose it helps with a narrative arc.

It's a shame they aren't dropping the whole season - just for me as I'd like to binge it all, but really looking forward to the rest of it.

Shame that when Howard has started to find some form er are reminded of his errors! Enjoyed it in general though, covered a lot in 40 mins. I dont mind it jumping round time wise as it helps the story. Its obviously geared up some ongoing storyline quite nicely. The fact that Shaun winter thinks of himself as a minor crleb was a bit nausea inducing but I'll forgive it!
