The penultimate episode was a banger as expected, focused mostly on the Yeovil game with some added tidbits on just how much R and R would have taken a bath financially without promotion. I like how Ryan did wryly observe that the $200,000 pitch from early the previous season seemed like a bigger deal then compared to all the costs presently, and Rob REALLY wanted those black jerseys hah.

I knew once they detailed the Forde family situation and how he was away on leave that his goal would have added significance, but since I wasn't really a day-in and day-out follower last year I didn't realize THAT was actually his first game back, just wow.

Enjoyed this one, a decent episode.

Only nit pick would be R and R pretending they were spending £24m on a new stand when they're not. When the leveling up funding went tits up in a previous episode, they were pleading poverty that they didn't have a spare £Xm lying around to cover the costs. Which is it??

24m dollars, not pounds. But they have a point when the govt aren't coughing up from the levelling up fund, the club have to spend it. No doubt that they'll get that back from other revenue streams.

A really good episode but on the financial front, that £20 per kit cost figure was interesting. Made me think even more that the club is overcharging for kids kits especially.

I work in ecommerce and that type of thing is usually about right for goods to be shipped in then sold in this country.

Figure is accurate. Back in the WST days that was the cost price for a new shirt - and of course at much lower volumes.

There's a reason why clubs put so much effort into changing the kits each season. Its a license to print money with huge margins.

The club are not spending 24m on the kop.

Firstly that's the price of the entire gateway project, not the stand. Secondly we are getting funds from the council/assembly towards the stand cost.

It was a bit disingenuous. I get it makes better TV to egg up the financials, but still.

It would be better if this and previous episodes gave a more accurate picture of the financial side of things. This storyline is the only downside of a great series.

The entire project is closer to 80 million.
The stand is costing just over £20m so about $24m.
You are correct that we are due to get the vast majority from the council although the last update said it hadn't been finalised yet.

If a 5000 seater stand is costing us £20m, then someone is having us over.

You got a link for that as I can't see anywhere where is stated that the cost of just the stand is that amount.
