Welcome to Wrexham S3 E6 "Far Away, So Close" discussion thread (spoilers)

I actually watched this episode twice before going to sleep last night, had to watch it a second time for the Patagonia part. I don't think they ever showed Parky vengeful like that before, was great that the team delivered. Nice to end the episode with a win after showing the rough stretch of the season in the episode.

Parky dropping the C bomb was my highlight.

Same. They deserved it too the tinpot fcukers, celebrating like they'd won the Champions League they were.

An entertaining episode overall - and gets bonus points as the Accrington home game was probably one of my favourite experiences of the season, especially as I was able to take my Dad for the first time in years. The Patagonia Reds stuff was great, as well.

I guess the royal family stuff has a Marmite quality to it... I could probably have done with less 'Prince of Wales' and more Luke Evans, personally.

One thing that struck me from this episode, though, is that I much prefer it when the genuine/'contemporaneous' audio/video from the podcasts is used rather than the obviously recorded 'so, big game tomorrow as Wrexham look to get into the automatic promotion places' sound-bites. I understand why the latter are used (and no slight on those involved, I don't expect anyone turn down the offer of doing a staged re-record in exchange for appearing in the documentary) but they feel a bit artificial/'off' to me when authenticity is such a big part of the USP of the whole endeavour.

Last 2 episodes have been absolutely terrific, well worth the money.

I really do enjoy the love for the Welsh language in the episode and amongst the descendants of the settlers in Patagonia.

Just watched it. Wonderful episode. Super thread running through it, from the regular opening song of 'Don't forget where you came from', linking with the Welsh community move to Patagonia and their descendants' return to Wales for the Wrexham v Accrington Stanley match, and Jacob Mendy's appearance for Gambia in AFCOM, his recollection of his roots and early days there, and his hope to return to his homeland to live at some point in the future.

Storytelling at its finest. I can't speak highly enough of this episode in particular, and Series 3 as a whole.

One thing I think has helped keep the episodes a bit more cohesive is the producers moving to 8, 40 minute episodes vs 16, 20 min episodes. The longer format enables them to have multiple story lines going simultaneously. Generally, there is a team story line, a player story line and a fan story line, which I have enjoyed tremendously.

Also, enjoyed Parky's C-Bomb comment. I love seeing PP get fired up in the locker room, which only strengthens my man-crush on him.
