Sheffield United and Wrexham have been sanctioned following a mass confrontation during their match on Tuesday 13 August in the EFL Cup.
Both clubs admitted that they failed to ensure their players did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 94th minute.
An independent Regulatory Commission imposed an £8,500 fine on Sheffield United during a hearing. Wrexham accepted a standard £2,500 penalty.
The independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for Sheffield United’s sanction can be seen below.
The FA cited Sheffield United's higher fine to be down to the number of Blades players involved in the confrontation along with the number of separate incidents the club have been involved in.
The confrontation, which saw Blades midfielder Sydie Peck and Wrexham forward Jack Marriott booked, was the ninth involving Sheffield United in the past two and a half years according to the FA.
