Default Re: The sad case of a founding members and player of Wrexham Football Club

Our 150th anniversary kit, last year, was taken from the earliest known Wrexham AFC kit, dated 1878
Wrexham - Historical Football Kits

Although I have found evidence that this kit dates back to 28th October 1876.

To-day (Saturday), there will be a scratch match between the Wrexham First eleven v Remainder of Club. There is every prospect of its being a well- contested game. We understand the club will play in their new colours in this match, viz. a Scarlet and black jersey and stockings, white knickerbockers and blue caps.

Like the majority of early teams, our original 1864 colours consisted of 'cricket whites' although teams were distinguished by wearing distinctively coloured caps, scarves or sashes, and as our 1876 kit incorporated a blue cap, it seems likely that our original colours were white (cricket whites) with a blue cap scarf or sash; colours we would use (blue and white) for much of our early history.
Thankfully, we saw sense and changed this to red and white from 1939
