Presume the question concerns the prem not old first division.. if not Arfon Griffiths for Arsenal, Stuart Mason at Liverpool spring to mind.. dis Brian Hughes get to play top flight? Bobby Shinton went to Man city but dont think they were at the level they are now.. likewise king Karl Connolly at QPR? Billy Ashcroft at Boro? Great players, great memories, happy days!

Bryan Hughes did play in the Premiership with Hull, Charlton and Birmingham. I think when Connolly was with QPR they were in the Championship (then called division one)
