Just because he is doing it at Macclesfield doesn't automatically mean it will work anywhere else. Two fairly successful lower league managers - Keith Hill, (Rochadale) and John Coleman (Accrington) have had fairly unsuccesful spells at Barnsley and Rochdale before returning to their current clubs - Rochdale not doing too well at the minute, but are in all honesty probably struggling because of their cup run (which has earned the club nearly £1m)
Jose Mourinho wasn't a particularly well known (nor prolific) footballer, but he hasn't done too bad. Everyone has to start somewhere, and in all aspects success is by no means guaranteed. Whoever gets the job will get my backing (and will hopefully get us to the promised land)
