I mean fair play to him if he does take a pay cut and sign for us permanently but it's very rare a player drops two levels nowadays on a permanent transfer if under contract elsewhere - and sometimes even if not.
Akil Wright is the only exception I can think of in recent memory to come to us - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

The only reason players would do that is because of a two year deal, say, but I don't think he's at that stage of his career yet.
