I dont think the club have set an actual cap figure and I would expect each contract is negotiated separately.
Paying someone £2k a week is a huge chunk of the budget but would it be worth it if the wages of Grant and Fondop combined were £2k and we could get Rowe, McCallum or Cook. Just asking.

Surely a wage cap is an amount you must not go beyond not just whatever your top earner is on at a particular point in time?
Not interested in getting into a nodding dogs v sh*tting dogs argument but surely someone randomly stating we have a wage cap with no supporting evidneve to bash the board then stating its fact because no one can disprove it isnt something we should all then accept as received wisdom is it?
For what it's worth I have no idea if we have cap or not but having one is probably sensible business as long as you could flex it slightly if a dream player was pennies over the cap.
