But it does seem that football is being hung out to dry here. Apparently, it's OK for schools still to be open where you've got thousands of sweaty kids living cheek by jowl for several hours a day, 5 days a week, but it's not OK for football supporters outside the truly elite level to rattle round half empty (or more) stadiums for a couple of hours pw.

There's a difference between being with children that can be identified in a classroom, and being next to a stranger who you can't identify at a football match - isn't there?
