Get all the prolific strikers we want the team still needs to push up the pitch 10 yards so we can actually attack teams not play long ball and wait for set pieces

I would be happier with two strikers capable of getting say 15 goals each, knowing our luck we push the boat out on one big name and...

bitten by snake in Portugal
freak car accident involving a canal
falls off a ladder whilst cutting his hedge with the hedge trimmer slicing his knob off
gets home sick for Scotland/NE etc and is allowed to leave on a free and then goes on to be top scorer for Dover

....etc etc

The world according to the Oracle that is little Bryan Hughes if we had finished top we would of won the league.

So the genius that he is has not noticed that if we had the Liverpool strike force upfront they would struggle to score without a half decent midfield and the negative tactics home and away.

So when the media team contact him (baring in mind they speak to him daily) what is he supposed to do? A silent protest?

Not alot he can say really. Granted, his interviews are dire, Keates levels for me (Ricketts was very good to his credit) so long as he does it on the pitch he can say/do what he wants.

this is true, but it creates pressure to find one next year. the leader can follow that one up in august.

Well if the media team want to talk to him he should do what Keates did mumble then they wouldn't know what he was going on about.

Joking aside simply not state the bleeding obvious even Stevie Wonder could see we need a goalscorer and have since Vose left.

He could of said we need more creation in midfield and to play a more attacking positive game.

He has to talk to grubby spineless little newspapers like the leader and they then create these non stories. Its just guff and I don't read much into it.

Football manager in wanting prolific goal scorer shocker
Football manager saying a prolific goal scorer could have made a difference to our season.

so because he says the obvious he gets slated!!! He came in with no chance of getting a striker we all want and need, he knows this and says that a prolific striker would have made a difference. Maybe when asked for comments he should direct the media to the frigging experts on here. I am sure some have won Football Manager trophies.

We won’t get one so dream on.

We haven’t had a prolific goalscorer for 25 years at this club, so why would we get one now? The Morrell season was a fluke. And before Bennett you have to go back to Rooster for a season or 2 and then to the likes of Whittle and McNeil in the 1970’s.

We have had smattering of good strikers over the years.

Danny Wright 15 goals
Jake Speight 21 goals
Andy Mangan 15 goals
Juan Ugarte 16 goals.

One of them would do!

You could see Moult was quality at this level too but we left him on the bench and played Bishop instead. I'm still not fully over that.

Forgot about him.

Andy Bishop. Oh god. I think I pushed that to the back of my mind. I was happy when we signed him as well.

Just goes to show, its a tricky game getting these strikers. It needs to drop right, he needs to click with the system you play etc.

2 forwards 12-15 goals each would be a good return in this league with goals from other sources. The 1 striker 25 goals a season is just a myth, its not what we should be aiming for.

In fairness, I think he's less saying this as some huge revelation, and more as a hint to the board to say "give me the funds for an extra striker".

You have to laugh at the comments on here. Yes he stated the obvious but if he had not mentioned it everyone would be frothing saying that he can’t even see the bleeding obvious.

Posters are all too quick to highlight faults and failings and although BH has hardly set the world alight, he’s still not been given a fair crack at the job.
