I remember Eric playing for New Broughton when he was a young man. As a boy we used to go to the changing room (an old outhouse on Gatewen road known as 'The Clubhouse') and I remeber seeing the 'manager' putting the 'boot money' in the lads' shoes for when they got changed back. Eric always had plenty to say even then. A well respected member of the village, as was his mother. Sorry to hear this news. Guess he must be well into his eighties?

I've known Eric for years I worked with him at Shotton steelworks,travelled there with him and also through the football club.A true stalwart at Wrexham football club for many years.RIP Eric

Rest well Eric. You have served this club so well looked after the turnstiles for many a year. But most of all as me as a teenager he looked after us so well on away trips on the away travel club in the late seventies and eighties ,Nigel my sincerest condolences .
