Pearson interview on BT Sport
Sounded absolutely fed up after the game, saying we were lucky to get a point. He didn't blame the management directly but you could see in his expressions who is blaming.
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Yep
Looked and sounded utterly dejected |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Don't blame him. We are clueless.
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Probably fed up.

Anyone got rough quotes?
Anyone got rough quotes?
"The amount of 2nd contacts we lose is frightening" "There need to be big improvements and quickly" |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Yeah I thought it was interesting. Lucky to get a point. He said it's scary how many second balls we don't win.
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Said the obvious, only player with his heart on his sleeve once again. Should have played the youth plus Pearson as at least they’d have tried!
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Get Keates back in
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Right now I’d be happy with Keates
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Imagine if it was public knowledge that SP and Hughes don’t get on.
Or that the players can’t stand Darlington. Imagine a club board knowing about the above and chosing not to act. IMAGINE |

Do you know , I dont mind that thought |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
I'd ask Pearson who should be next manager

No point. Unless he knows someone young, inexperienced, a former player or been on Darlingtons coaching course! |

Said it in a post a week ago. Appoint Pearson and an assistant temporary get the passion back and then bring in a new manager. Make sure salary isn’t an issue and recruit properly. Personally I would appoint the duo down the road. They are clearly more knowledgeable and experienced at Non league level than Mr Footgolf. They are also more animated and passionate on the touchline. The level of performance is quite frankly disgraceful. Total lack of urgency until last 6 mins. The quality of finishing is atrocious as per Summerfields efforts. Get Young further forward ffs. Total embarrassment watching that today. |

Two weeks ago, I would have said over my dead body. Now, I would take that. Posted via mobile theme |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Really don't get the clamour about Pearson being the messiah
First off he's no where near the end of his career Secondly Pearsons passion and drive disappears when the going gets tough. He only rants and raves when we're doing well. Didn't see him trying to drive anyone on today. Barely saw him talk to anyone but the referee. Grimsby only went up with him on the bench Great player and a good leader but certainly not the messiah |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
No chance. We gave him his first chance in management and he left us at a critical time of the season. I will never accept him back as manager.

Posted via mobile theme
I feel the same, which sums up the sorry situation we're in right now. Id much rather boring 1-0 wins over boring defeats and draws. We'd go back to being solid at the back and we have better players in attack from when he was here last. Pearson's interview summed up every fans opinion, not good enough and second to every ball. Hughes has lost the dressing room. |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Would happily watch Keates’ boring football that gets results than this.
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Keates until the end of the season then review
|
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
If BH stays in situ Darlington has to go. We need a full time coach with fresh ideas. That was unacceptable today, when I saw the midfield you just new what was going to happen.
At the very least Young should have been the attacking midfielder. |

I dont think Pearson is a messiah but we need time to make an appointment and I would imagine he is respected by the players and he can instill some passion. The whole football coaching and management team has to go and we need to look and be a professional outfit. At the moment it is amateurish just like the boards. Both of them. |

Posted via mobile theme
I suggested Keates in a LMT two weeks or so ago, just to see what the reaction would be. Now, like you, I would be happy with it. Far preferable to relegation and a new Legoland clone 'stadium' somewhere convenient for the bypass. |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
In comparison.... here's Hughes' post match interview in full with bullet points from the Nat League highlights show:
* Our fans are fantastic. We're a fans owned club. * They expect to see us winning games... which is great. Especially here, as our record over the last 18 months or so has been fantastic. * But if we're not winning games, it can turn quite quickly... that's where we're at at the moment. * We're in this little rut... that's no win in 6 now * But yeah... the fans have been great so far * We need them to keep pushing with us * With regard to how it affects the players... like I said ... they're human... it will affect them * What I need to do is manage them so it doesn't affect them... we need them to be on top of their game right from minute 1 So inspiring.... Not ! Oh dear. |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
I didn't think we were that bad, but that was awful. No passion, no pattern of play at all. We were just jogging with no method what so ever. This is deeply worrying.

No chance. |

Let’s not go down the keates route again
Get someone in with , wait for it, football management experience Ian Holloway , there’s plenty of suitable candidates out there |

Posted via mobile theme
I actually think I would to! We need a pick me up job like he did when he took over from Mills...only this time he would have a better squad to be starting with. |

Chambers was a much better centre half today. Also question- Why does a captain stand on the half way line while one of his players attempts to get us a point from the penalty spot ? Harris and tollit pinching money No tactics but worse no team spirit for which I blame the management and players in equal measure. |

We would be spoilt for choice. Problem is, woild you trust any of the buffoons in charge to get the right man, especially if we allow candidates from outside FAW school to get a fair crack. If Keates comes back that's me done. |
Re: Pearson interview on BT Sport
Pearson has joked to a groundsman asking who the old fella is who sits in the corner every game. The old fella he’s referring to is Brian Flynn.
Where do you want your centre half to stand?
His job is to defend a possible counter attack.
Were you at the game ? Sutton were no more likely to counter attack than Tollit was to put a cross in. Also Carrington was stood next to him. As captain i would let my team mate know that I wanted him to score. |
As captain i would let my team mate know that I wanted him to score.
This is hiliarious. Of all the petty complaints I've seen on here this is right up there. Does Grant really not know that his captain wants him to score? Or if he is somehow that stupid, Pearson can't say come on to him then walk back to his defensive position after? |
Would happily watch Keates’ boring football that gets results than this.
No chance. I’d wash my hands of the whole thing if they brought him back. |
