No energy second half - sat back and nearly paid the price

But could have and should have got a 2nd very late on

It was like the game on Tuesday, only we happened to score and they didn't this time.

We started great, came out the blocks and seemed to be the better team. 2nd half a lot of the players didn't seem like they wanted to know.

Happy to see Hooper back on the scoresheet, and Grant's miss was awful. Had visions of them taking it up the other end and scoring after that.

First time seeing Horsfield. Looked quite good. Calm on the ball and linked up well with the midfield.

MOTM for me today was Jennings. Got the assist and just had a good day all round.

Spot on, we actually played some decent football 1st half but 2nd half was bizarre with Barton playing as an extra defender Wright and Redmond out wide and Rudders central midfield running round like a headless chicken, then the 3 of them would swap positions for a few minutes.Mad tactics and just back to hoofing it out of defense and hoping for the best.

We passed it around quite well first half and looked a team with energy and purpose, they had a couple of half chances but we absorbed their play quite well.
2nd half we decided to sit back and hit them on the occasional break but as the half went on we got disjointed and looked a poor team.

Suppose wins a win but play like that against better opposition and were going to be squashed.

Played some decent stuff for 35 minutes then sat back for 55. Akil Headless chicken,Redmond bypassed/bored Rutherford running as ever with little end product. Thought Lainton had a decent shout for MOM which speaks volumes.
One strange observation- absolutely no noise from the Chesterfield 73 apart from one ‘ooo’ in the second half. Were they protesting?

Good 1st half woeful 2nd half. Typical keates football. Steal a goal and defend it. But the shape 2nd half was terrible. Harris bone idle when he came on..... If his instructions were stand around then look half interested if the ball comes near you he played them to perfection. Very lucky to win that. Need more effort, movement and sone desire up top.

Grant is dire. Trouble is he thinks he’s Messi or someone not just the missed chance at the end. His shooting outside the box my god has he ever hit the target. Why are we pumping balls into him it just comes right back at you. Think he needs resting now Dean

First have we looked better than of late. Redmond and Wright looked improved on either side and of the diamond. We scored from our best move of the game.

The second half was classic Keates, hoof after hoof after hoof; conceding possession over and over again. Harris not scoring was bad, Grant not scoring was worst than bad.

How on earth did Rutherford stay on the pitch for the whole match?

He missed a sitter but if we rest him who takes his place ? Please not Tollit or Harris as they are so much worse
