Not a signing to inspire unfortunately. |
Re: Szepaniak signs on
Don't worry he's not going to be playing.
|
Re: Szepaniak signs on
Mr Glass strikes again!
We need to get a keeper in to challange lainton not as back up for dibble |

Re: Szepaniak signs on
New number 1 please.
|
Re: Szepaniak signs on
this will mean that lainton is out for a while
|
Re: Szepaniak signs on
Announce promotion!

Why? |
Re: Szepaniak signs on
If anyone thinks this is in response to a Lainton injury you're mad, weve had 3 keepers last couple of years it make sense as cover

It’s not a great sign, is it? He’s presumably signed on to make him eligible to play in the league |

Posted via mobile theme
I think it's the timing of it. Three days until kick off and we'll need a keeper on the bench. "Quick get Shzepaniak signed up" Hopefully, I'm wrong. |

Obviously this. |
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
Tbh I thought he was signed on a one year deal with us.
Given Leightons injury issues I’m suprised we haven’t got a more experienced no 2 in. 5 month deal. End of the transfer window? |
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
He’ll be 35 before he ever plays a game for us.
|
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
Wow, wasn’t good enough for a struggling Cefn Druids when on loan. Let’s hope our new goalkeeper coach has seen something. Very surprised we haven’t got a keeper on loan like we used to. Bachman, Foster etc did well here. Had a few dodgy loan ones also mind you.
|
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
This is concerning if you ask me.
|
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
Christ it's like groundhog day.
Bobby Grant to extend for another 12 months too? |
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
This is so strange. He’s never been good enough
|
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
Where's Mayebi when you need him!
|
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
If Lainton doesn't start Saturday prepare for our usual 1-0 defeat at Solihull.
Only thing that can save us is that we have strikers this season. But seriously, to be going into the first game with Dibble in goal,a makeshift defence and usual gutless midfield as per last season is really unnacceptable after 9 weeks to get us prepared. |
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
Have we got a physio to treat these players yet?
|
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
Completely puzzled.
Why offer him something? He can’t challenge dibble and isn’t good enough to be starting for us. I thought we were going to sign the best players?? |

Alarm bells are ringing. |
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
Get a grip of yourselves lads, and not in the WST way.
I know the season is getting close but the alarmism here is getting too much. He's coming in as a third choice keeper, and the club (those experts like Parkinson, Parkin and Butler) clearly see Dibble as an acceptable no2. I can't say I'm convinced they're right or wrong - but I trust their judgement based on everything else I've seen so far. |

In fairness here, Cefn Druids' keeper is Michael 'Carrots' Jones who is also their captain now. They're not dropping him until he retires. |

Re: Szczepaniak signs on
I'd rather play that youth keeper we've got. He's meant to have a right future by all accounts. Polish lad (not Dawid, although Dawid comes good on Football Manager 21)
Edit: Adrian Krol! |

We need to get a keeper in to challange lainton not as back up for dibble
Whilst I remember we once get promoted with Mark Morris in goal, I tend to agree. With only two spots up for grabs, we don't need to be making do with sicknote and Dibble anymore. |
Re: Szczepaniak signs on
That surely means Dibble will start until Lainton is fit
He must be phenomenal in training. |

Not sure if Carrots was injured then. When Dawid went on loan he played a few games but from highlights I saw made a few clangers so Carrots came back in. They seemed to switch a few times but in the end Dawid seemed to come back to Wrexham. Just hope Butler has seen some potential. |

It is weird though, and frustrating, that we have an absolute superstar upfront, light years ahead of everyone in the league, yet we have a substandard goalkeeper, a makeshift defence and no midfield general. |

If Lainton, Brisley and Lennon were fit then we wouldn't have an issue, and I get the point that with the injury records of all three (although Lennons issues are as a result of leg breaks not some sort of inherent problem he has) they were all risks. Id be perfectly comfortable.starting with a back three of Hayden, Lennon and French though. I'm not a fan of Dibble but I do think as a fan base we rate him so low due to his record under Hughes when he completely went to pieces. He was fine last season when he came into the team. I agree that to go for the title we need something else in midfield. Dave Jones is a good first step but I am confident we will bring in that number 6 before the window closes. Ultimately we have the majority of the team who finished 8th last season, with a much enhanced forward line. We also look a lot fitter than last season. I just don't think there is any need to panic, personally. |
