OK, the season is over, but there are still decisions to be made. Do we abandon the seaon altogether or do we go ahead with playoffs whenever the time is right/ And if we have playoffs how do we decide who plays where?
Not that I'm bored with time on my hands or anything but, I started looking at various PPG scenarios.
The attached results provide enough "What if?" questions to last, maybe, until the next season begins.
I calculated, or rather Excel did, the following:
PPG - straight PPG based on current results;
PPG (H) + PPG (A) - the variation I use in the Like for Like Stats;
PPG (H) - home form applied to all games;
PPG (A) - away form applied to all games;
Vs TOP -form against the current top 12 teams;
Vs TOP (H) - home form against the top 12 applied to all games;
Vs TOP (A) - away form against the top 12 applied to all games;
Vs BOTTOM -form against the current bottom 12 teams;
Vs BOTTOM (H) - home form against the bottom 12 applied to all games;
Vs BOTTOM (A) - away form against the bottom 12 applied to all games.
I could have gone on and added things like 'Home vs Top 12 and Away vs Bottom 12' but mrs draig slapped me when she saw me giggling hysterically.
