Here’s one, why not put the football museum at the oldest international football ground
- what an opportunity

Typical politics will play out
You could add to that-
The oldest football club in Wales
The home of the third oldest professional football Club in the World.
The home of the winners of the Welsh Cup, more than any other club
The location of the first ever Wales home international Football match
The location of the only public house on a football stadium in UK
The location of the oldest public house at any sport stadium in the World (still to be confirmed)
The location of the first football stadium to use counting turnstiles (still to be confirmed)
The location of the first football stadium to have a
purpose-built permanent stand for spectators (1854 initially erected for race-meetings)- still to be confirmed... etc...etc..etc...etc.

the stadium is oozing with the precise history that the museum is supposedly intending to accumulate and display.
Seems a no-brainer, but as you say politics will play out

Re: Welsh Football Museum

Is there enough parking for a visitor attraction presumably to be open 6-7 days a week?

I’m not convinced the racecourse is the right location for a museum. It lacks the daily footfall but maybe if they build it, people will come.

Why stop at a Wales museum but make it more user friendly for youngsters. Have interactive things etc. If I was 10, would I be that bothered about seeing a John Charles shirt from 1958? No chance.
Id need to check with my sister whos worked at Wrexham museum in the past and is a museum curator but in sure the museum is a listed building so wouldn't that make extending it more difficult?
it has already had extensions to the back of the building and of course the cafe reception on the front. No buying the old fire station land was an error

The whole point about using the £4.4m quoted.
Build it new with underground car park.

Using old buildings wtf!

What’s the £4.4m for specifically?

My thoughts were to incorporate it within a new kop stands but not stop at just a museum. Make it a visitor attraction for old and young a like.

Its a figure quoted in the article as being the estimate.
I agree.

I think this will be a white elephant. Apart from a few thousand Welsh people where are the visitors going to come from?

If we didn't need a new stand I doubt people would be that bothered by where it would be. They just want the new stand to go with it which I doubt would happen.

Business wise I dont think it has been thought through. As you say what visitors and what predictions have been made of numbers. Sounds like a museum for the preservation/posterity of our heritage - which is fine but not a business decision.

If there is £4.4m funding available then just buy the ground and build the museum. That way it safeguards the club and provides the facility but as you say a white elephant.

Alternatively build it into a project to take WAFC forward and interact it with match day and possibly part time opening and at least provide the museum and a better future for the club.

OH selfish me for these thoughts but £4.4m well spent in the North.
