Re: Current Player League Ability
it would be cheaper to bring in a good manager than replace 30 odd players
That's way too much common sense your speaking there. |
Re: Current Player League Ability
So after Saturday you look at that squad, what we need and who needs to go.
Honest opinion, from the squad listed below and what we have seen, what league do you believe is best for the current players? Christian Dibble - NLN Rob Lainton - NL Dawid Szczepaniak - NLN / Welsh Prem Jazzi - NLN / NLS (Maybe even Evo Stick) Chambers - NLN / NLS Reid - NLN / NLS Jennings - NL Pearson - NL Tharme - Welsh Prem / NLN Lawlor - NL Kennedy - NL Carrington - NL Rutherford - NLN Akil - NL Young - NL / L2 Summerfield - NLN Grant - NL Devonte - NL Barton - Welsh Prem Oswell - Welsh Prem Leighton Mc - Scotland Div 2 Hooper - FL NL = National League NLN = National league north NLN - National league south FL - Football league
If Keates, Davies and Darlington were given the boot I predict that many of your ratings could be upgraded. |
Re: Current Player League Ability
Wrexham Ladies FC have put appeal out on twitter for new players. I've suggested the men's team should do similar. Anything would be an improvement on the current bunch wouldn't it?

Re: Current Player League Ability
Most of this squad came quite close to winning the league. They are much better than what we are seeing this season.
We do have some dross like Rutherford, Wright, McKintosh, Barton, Dibble, Bobb etc but ultimately we are where we are now because the club board decided to appoint another shit manager, along with his shit assistant and a fraud of a coach. |
Re: Current Player League Ability
Lainton is a football league keeper no doubt. What the poor fliper is doing here only he knows.
Hooper would score goals in the footy league I’m convinced. If he had a midfielder capable of passing a ball forward unlike here. The rest are non league players plain and simple. What’s level of non league is the debate! |
Re: Current Player League Ability
The managed decline on the field is taking us down to the level suited to the boards.

Christian Dibble - In the squad last year Rob Lainton - In the squad last year Dawid Szczepaniak Jazzi Chambers Reid Jennings - In the squad last year Pearson - In the squad last year Tharme - In the squad last year Lawlor - In the squad last year Kennedy - In the squad last year Carrington - In the squad last year Rutherford - In the squad last year Akil - In the squad last year Young - In the squad last year Summerfield - In the squad last year Grant - In the squad last year Devonte Barton Oswell - In the squad last year Leighton Mc Hooper Tollitt - In the squad last year
Another way of looking at it was 15 of the 23 players in the squad were here last season and could have won the league under a decent manager The shower of sh*t management team we have now can't even scrape results against Ebbsfleet with this squad |
Re: Current Player League Ability
I actually think some of this bunch will do alot better once they have left us.
Cole Stockton plays for Morecambe, on that logic alone I could see Grant & Lainton playing in the football league. |
Re: Current Player League Ability
your missing the point ,with shit manager and coaches they will all look poor
Agree. At the moment we do not necessarily need players good enough to win the league or get into the POs — both are beyond us. What we need is a squad good enough to escape the event horizon of relegation and hopefully get to mid-table. We need about 3 good players to do that ie midfield-general, target-man and LB. If we also had a better management team the task would be easier, even with what we currently have. This lot are clueless: the fans know it, and so too do the players. Hence why morale is so poor and we are being beaten by equally poor teams. Alas, the Board either disagree or refuse to act. Hey ho! |
