The Faw can't be seen to show favour to Wrexham despite the history between the FAW, Wrexham and the fact Collier's Park used to be ours. They have a duty to all clubs in Wales. What happens if another North Wales based club such as Chester ask to use the training facilities?

I get why people feel aggrieved though.
This is pretty much it...at the moment but in the future things will hope fully change.

Is it not better the WFA do what they are doing to it though than Glyndwr try to sell it off to build houses on.

Yes it's not great and really pisses me off but seeing there is a large Wrexham based staff it will hopefully lead to better relations down the line. What will happen if the WFA need to cut costs and perhaps rent it out?? We would be on a decent position to discuss terms. The groves and 9 acre have a few more hoops to jump through to get the green light yet...ie planning which isn't going to be as straight forward as Phil Wynn et al think it's going to be.

Will the lads still be training on 9 acre next season?

I’ve heard a rumour that Swansea are to set up a north wales academy at colliers park. Now that would piss everyone off!
There are two things boiling my piss at the moment :

1) Our 12th year in non league with not much hope of change

2) Our old training ground

Surely I'm not the only one who cannot believe the Football Association of Wales are building a brand new training ground, on the site of our old Colliers Park, whilst Wales' oldest football club struggles in non league, training on a glorified park field.

Please can someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but Colliers was built after the sale of one of our best youth players to Birmingham City, our current manager Brian Hughes, and was taken away from us because we couldn't afford to pay for both the ground and the training ground. Taken away from us after it was stolen from us in the first place, by the asset strippers.

Now, I'm fully expecting Alan and co to tell me we have no legal right to the site, but morally and in the context of football, Welsh football, I find it disgusting. Surely, the FAW will make plans for Wrexham football club to use this facility? We need to make this a problem for the FAW and I'd like to think the Jimmy's could get involved here.

If fan ownership is here to stay I think it's even more important we try to get involved here. When it comes to attracting new players, we all know money dictates, and we can't compete with a lot of other clubs. So, when a new player is shown around the place, it can make all the difference, it's where the first team spend most of their time, their workplace really isn't it? Shortly after signing, Pearson told us at a supporters meeting he realised why Keates got him to sign his contract before showing him nine acres.

I'd like to think some arrangement could be made, and we should be putting pressure on the FAW, Council and Welsh assembly. Please tell me I'm not alone here?
Excellent , Send that in email to the WFA , its worthy , But it will fall on deaf ears mate :31:

I can imagine all sorts of issues being raised in here if the FAW allow us to be tenants of Colliers. Firstly, tenants of something that’s rightfully ours with some kind of feudal claim. Secondly, if we can’t use the facility for any reason we’d be considered second class citizens in our own facility paid for by the Bryan Hughes money.

As I say, I’d prefer the football club to have its own facility with our own branding throughout. It will also be the catalyst to breathing life back into the youth set up.

I’d like to see something start on the Groves site, however. Plans, maybe? A statement of the actual process?

Planning permission required. It all takes time ;)

Has a planning application been submitted? If not, it seems unlikely that anything can be done there for at least the next 6/12 weeks.
