just found a load of football penants having a clear out in attic any one colkect them or does anyone know if there worth anything

I wouldn't be too quick to write their worth off.

How many are there ?
How old are they ?
Are they a defined specific collection relevant to one club /country ?
Can they be categorized in any other way ?

Just as a wild example say you had the cup winners penants from the Wrexham v Anderlect match from the 1970's European Cup winners ties I'm sure they would generate interest.

Authenticity is the key - if you have any documentation with them to provide a degree of proof that they are the real deal so much the better.

If you think they have potential worth why not take them to an auctioneer and ask for a valuation ?

They may be the type of items that would be best suited to a specialist sports / football memorobila auction - remembering that as with all auctions you only need two people to be interested and bid against each other - having obtained a valuation you could put a reserve price on them and if not reached try and sell another day or put on ebay.

It's not simple it never is - they probably wont make you a rich man but don't be too quick to dismiss them as not worth much without delving into how you can maximize their sale value (if that's what you intend).
