Default Welcome to Wrexham S2E4: "Shaun's Vacation"

This week's episodes have gone under the radar a bit...and I can see why. Probably the two weakest episodes to date in both series.

Thankfully it doesn't centre around our favourite Turf regular going to Anglesey for a wet weekend in a caravan but rather the chaos that ensues at the club when Shaun Harvey takes his Mrs to Tenerife for a week.

So we have the blimp, Rob upsetting the FA over streaming and Mullin's "Fluff the tories" boots. Cue Shaun almost but not quite cutting short his holiday to sort out the mess.

You can see Humphrey totally fed up at it all. And I don't blame him. The penny drops a bit that the club is a blank canvas for the owner's sense of humour and silly pranks. There is precious little in the way of actual footy.

This won't make comfortable viewing for Fleur. Fleur bashing is uncool but to coin a phrase from the BBC Leeds presenter to Liz Truss "‘Where’ve you been?’ Says a lot when she can't step up when Shaun goes away for a week.

What was that load of horseshit. Worst episode to date. Maybe it's run its course after this season.

Lots to look forward to, not least penalty save and promotion.

Decent enough, but if Wrexham wasn’t the subject I’m not sure I would be watching them anymore. Doesn’t feel like a football documentary or a community driven documentary

Last season was up there with one of the best title challenges theres ever been in British football with both teams breaking numerous records. Must admit I thought this season would heavily focus on the football side of things, but apart from the episode featuring our game at Meadow Lane, its felt like the football is secondary, feel like they are missing a trick, but suppose there is plenty of time for the season to re-focus.

Don't get me wrong though, its brilliant to have the episode about autism, and following people in the local community etc. I still find it an interesting watch, just not quite what I was expecting so far.

You must have missed episodes 1, 2 and 3, where they focussed on the semi final loss in episode 1, and how the community is benefitting, or Episode 2 focussed on the Quiet Zone and its members, at the Racecourse, as well as Wrexham players and their families, and episode 3, where it focussed on the buildup and match against Notts County Away...

But yeah, definitely doesnt feel like a football or community documentary

Havent seen the latest two episodes yet and I feel 20 minutes is a frustrating air time, but it is what it is, how many other teams outside of PL or UCL are having documentaries on them?

I haven't seen the latest episodes, but I keep reminding myself that there's a large degree to which "legacy fans" aren't really the intended audience for the documentary.
