Default Damon Lathrope

Grim news from Woking this evening "As we shared last week, Damon suffered a badly broken leg during our game against Boreham Wood. Sadly, following the injury and various operations, Damon has been left with life changing damage to a number of major arteries and veins."

Lathrope signed for Woking from Torquay in Jan and played for Torquay at the Racecourse in Jan.

The article states the injury has ended his playing career - truly dreadful news.

I would think there is some significant insurance scheme perhaps through the PFA to assist him in such circumstances - not forgetting that we are down there at Woking in a fortnight (St Patrick's Day)

I saw the injury on the BT highlights the other week and thought it wasn't really needed after seeing his leg hang off at a pretty grim angle. It was one of those that would put you off your tea..for a week.

Wish the lad all the best and if there's a bucket collection for him in 2 weeks then I'll be happy to chuck into it. Much better cause than for morons down the road who can't budget and also as a gesture after Woking donated a pair of match tickets to raise funds for Jacko (RIP) a few years ago

Good call, will be there on 17th and will also happily put my hand in my pocket to help the guy in some small way, not all footballers are on huge wages.

Not good for anyone that injury never mind someone who relies on sport for income, I would also be much more willing to Chuck some money in

Agree 100%. Going down Woking as well and will be more than happy to throw a few quid in for the lad.

Looked nasty at the time, couldn’t imagine it caused so much damage.
