Default A different view

I was there at bromley when we played 2 strikers we never looked like scoring then so I don’t believe 3-5-2 is the way forward for us and yesterday for the first half we were the better team and pressed High but soon as there 1st went in it was never in doubt we’d go on to lose, I think the 4-3-3 works for if we get bodies near the striker to often the call comes to the striker and no one is around and results in them getting the ball back and wave after wave of attack for opponents

Thought we played 4-3-3 yesterday? If so it didn't work.

Amongst all this current hysteria - did anyone realistically think we would go to Fylde and come back with a win ?

We lost a game of football to a team now in 4th place who have a good home record.

Far too often we have played with just one solitary front man - an aspect of our game is no matter who plays up front and what formation we play - there is often little support for the man on the ball - players repeatedly don't move into space to give him options - we end up running up blocked alleys and seem content to take the easy option - pass it back and along the back line at a snails pace - style of play is bemusing at times regardless of who the starting 11 are.

Anyone with a little bit of know how could get this team firing ffs. We just need a little pace down the flanks and a creator in the middle.

Whether we think we can go to Fylde and get a win or not is irrelevant. It's whether Barrow and the players think it's possible. Judging by the lineup yesterday I have my doubts

So why haven’t we done it then?
Are you suggesting that using your knowhow, we would be winning every game?
If so, you should be in Football Management.....

I am sure you will come back with something along the lines of.......

We can all see what’s needed, why can’t the Management?
Why haven’t we signed a 20 goal a year striker?
If Barrow can’t see it, he needs to go.
Look at Leyton Orient/Salford/Fylde etc, they all have proper strikers.
Strikers score goals.
Etc etc etc.

I’m not suggesting that everything is rosy at the moment because we know it isn’t, but the constant stating of the what is the “bleedin’ obvious” solution to the “bleedin’ obvious” problem is getting a bit monotonous.

The crux is that the solution to what seems to be “bleedin obvious” is harder to achieve than it is to identify. And therein lies the conundrum.

What about a good old fashioned 4-4-2? Two wingers creating chances for two forwards.

It’s obvious that what we need is a good manager who understands players and tactics. Who in the conference can afford to sign two strikers plus extend a loanee and only one of them get on the pitch fir twenty minutes or so?

I don’t understand tactics and will never be a manager but ffs it’s obvious he is clueless.
