May I bring to an end all this speculation as to why the lad signed for us instead of Salford. Its blindingly obvious (literally), as he used to watch his old man playing out on the Racecourse pitch. He wants to play under the massive floodlights.

Hopefully he will help things out in the midfield. To many times last season when building pressure through the midfield we killed things stone dead by playing slow ball, backwards play or poor balls forward i.e hoofball. If this lads passing is as good as it looks we need to be getting players who can make space to benefit off of this.

How do you know that we don't already have those players in ? You can't really base it on previous years as we have already acknowledged that our forwards had no to poor service , further backed up by the relative success of players like Scott Boden at other clubs.

I'm not saying I'm averse to getting in a proven (at our level or higher )goalscorer but it will be interesting to see what Oswell, and maybe even Fondop could do with some decent service
