Friday statement: questions for election candidates
" Questions for Election Candidates We have already received some questions for candidates from our request last week. Please feel free to submit your questions to secretary@wst.org.uk. We are looking for a maximum of 20 questions and they must be questions that every candidate can answer. We have had these submitted so far. - One of the fundamental objects of the Trust is to ‘uphold the mutual ownership of the Club operating democratically, fairly and transparently. Is this something that you endorse, or are you seeking change? - What is your opinion on the Trust’s borrowing powers? Should they be reserved for clearly resolvable cash flow issues, or perhaps be more ambitious, to assist with a promotion push, for example, that might put long-term objectives at risk? - What is your understanding of the term ‘outside investment’ and do you think the Trust should be actively seeking such? - Under the current Trust Rules, the sale of the Football Club is not permitted, since such would be in direct conflict with objects of the Trust. Is this something you feel needs to be changed, and the sale of the Club to be actively encouraged? - Do you have any experience of sitting on the Governing Boards, Committees, focus groups or such like, of any organisation? - As you are no doubt aware, all positions on the WST Board are voluntary and unpaid. How much time do you feel that you are able to commit to the position on a weekly or monthly basis? - What skills or attributes do you possess that you feel will be of particular value to the running of the WST? - What do you think is the best way to attract good people, with the requisite skills to join the football Club Board, and should certain posts become Executive positions? If so, what amount or percentage should be set aside from the annual budget to account for these positions? - The WST Board have acknowledged that better communication with Members is necessary, to explain decisions, bring about change etc. What ideas do you have around this that might facilitate progress? - Members can currently be co-opted onto the Operational Board, ostensibly to provide expertise in areas where there is a recognised need. Do you agree with this approach, and do you have any further ideas that might complement this method? " |

Re: Friday statement: questions for election candidates
They look like good questions. I think 20 is a bit much for every candidate.
These + some more frothy "first match", "where do you sit", "favourite memory" questions would surely be enough? Unless I'm missing something obvious? "John Mills is Neil Cooke" - True or False? |

Re: Friday statement: questions for election candidates
Can you create fake, anonymous Twitter and Facebook accounts etc that can be used to abuse fans, slander and possible contact their employers to try and get these pesky fans sacked?
What are you like at keeping secrets? If an ex player, from say 20 odd years ago applies for the managers job would you hand that job to him without question and hand him an increased player budget based purely on sentiment alone? What is your record on telling lies and what is your poker face like? Do you promise to follow, worship and abide by the gospel according to Pete coaches at all times regardless of logic? Are you in a position to secretly loan the club money? And would you mind if that in the future this is leaked we throw you under the bus and lie about it? Do you have any experience in creating spin and propaganda? Do you have any issues with isolating and segregating disabled fans in what is probably the worst part of the stadium and trying to spin it as a positive? Do you resent all forms of successful private ownership and would you rather see this club sink lower and lower than admit defeat? What are your thoughts about there being zero accountability at a football club? |

Re: Friday statement: questions for election candidates
Which current board members are up for re-election at the AGM?
Maybe a chance for some tactical voting to be agreed on here to help oust those we feel responsible for the continued demise? |

Not just me who thinks this either, plenty of others have said this several times. They are all blowing hot air too and did you tell them so? No thought not. The usernames in question have been discussed many times and on many threads, particularly ones where allegations against certain board member have been raised. Plus its not my job to police this. Anyway it wasn't even a dig at RP and I didn't specify a forum. Last edited by Phils-an-alki; 5th June 2020 at 11.04:57.. |
