Rhos and District Reds will be holding their monthly meeting in a few weeks time (delayed by the sad news about Chris Williams).
We will discus the Build the Budget donation then.

Thanks for the update, despite the very sad news.

I see the total to aim for is £50k. That's phase one I am guessing. If we can't get a decent striker with that for next season then we may aswell pack it in! Looking forward to seeing a real striker next season

The aim is as much as we can - hope you feel inclined to donate LOL

The initiative has 2 parts - milestone 1 for 29 April where the total will be advised to Dean and then he can decide how he wants to spend this money in his recruitment process. We would all love DK to bring in a someone will a goal scoring record at this level or above.

Milestone 2 is then continued fund raising events in the summer to give Dean a back up contingency and then additional funds for the January window where we look to consolidate our position in the play off places and what with increased crowds around 4,800 then he has additional budget as well.

For me this first milestone is crucial as ST sales could increase and the bigger the fund gets then hopefully more fans will feel like donating.

Sermon over.

I'm a bit surprised that some posters keep harping on about £50k to bring in a striker.
Surely the money raised would be better spent on a number of players to add enough to wages to attract the ones we need.
Rather than offer 4 or 5 players £40k we could 4 or 5 offer better players £50k.
Seems pointless blowing the money on 1 Player who could get injured or fail to produce the goods.

I see your point, but I'd think a chunk of it should be spent on a 'marquee signing' to boost ST sales.

I definitely think that using it on one key player could have a galvanising effect - see Grimsby and Omar Bogle.

A top goalscorer could really make the difference to any potential promotion push. There's an element of risk whoever we sign, but I trust Keates to pick the right players. Rather that than pin our hopes on another Michael Bakare or Callum Powell.

Its like getting your birthday money - do you go and spend it all on 1 big toy or go and get a number of smaller things and spread it round.

The money is for DK to spend as he see fit. If he decides to spend £25k or even £50k on 1 or even 2 players then its Deans choice - he makes the call.

My opinion would be that each £4,000 we raise allows Dean to pay 1 player an extra £100 per week (based on it being a 40 week contract).
If we therefore get this fund to say £40k (which I believe we can if we can get more and more to donate just £10-20 each) then Dean could go an pay£20k for a player and also bring in 5 better quality players and that then becomes a real game changer for next season in terms of being able to challenge.
