First of our released players to get signed up and not just any old club a club that finished above us in 7th place, so I will take Paul Cox view on this situation, who is a bit more experienced than Keates, he has seen that his goal ratio has been decent especially seven goals from 15 starts and the fact he is 6ft 4

We have just signed someone who scored just six more goals than White, for the life of me can't understand why he didn't keep White.
You could be comparing apples with pears though. White could only play as the central striker where as Holroyd can play as a wide / supporting striker so if DK is still to sign a 25 goal a season striker then he would be the writer comparison not White

It did seem he was wearing Buster Crabbe's diving boots when going for headers most of the time though!
He always put in great effort and fitness can be improved but he seemed to lack natural pace and in his position I would prefer someone quick/sharper over 10 yards (hope Dean's got one lined up), but he came across as a decent bloke and I wish him well.

Agreed I wish him and his dad all the best!

The problem is, I'm not sure we can make an informed decision without knowing how much he was earning.

Ability wise, I don't think we got see him at his best due to the illness at preseason.

Form wise at the end of the year, and considering the above, he probably should have been given another year.

Having said that I conclude he was on a fair old wedge. Looking at the facts,

* He came down from Scotland on a one year deal. Would you relocate for one year if you were being well compensated?
* He's a goal scoring striker (they always command they highest wages)
* He was signed by Mills!
* The budget was the same or similar to previous year. Can anyone really see where that was spent? Surely logic would dictate Jordan must have been therefore one of the highest earners.

Its too black and white saying 'yes he should have been kept' or 'no he should be released' without knowing the cost effectiveness of it all.

Gareth Taylor is a prime example. In his last season for us, everyone was up in arms, asking why he was retained and he was a waste of money. But he basically offered to play for free and we were paying him absolute buttons.

For what its worth, I wish Jordan all the best. Seems a lovely lad, and was very unfortunate that his time here coincided with his illness. I'm sure he'll bang them in for Barrow.

If a striker makes me laugh out loud when he takes a shot or misses a sitter then that's usually a sign they aren't very good.

Shown some form at the end of the season, but I don't think we will miss him like some fans think. The illness will have had a big effect on him. Whilst it is difficult to judge him in an awful team like we had, to me he never shown enough to warrant being a high earner. He had glimpses, but overall I don't feel he was worth the risk next season. I remember seeing him warm up, his shooting was woeful. Keates has seen enough of him, I trust his judgement.

Pogba wasn't bad at all, and he had the whole ground laughing at home to Bath.

5:20 in.
