We can't afford those players!



I think Boden will get 20 goals this season provided he stays fit.

Would be nice to get another 'proven' striker in too, but I think a loan is our only hope in that respect, but if he is scoring goals regularly...why would his parent team want him out?

Yup; I'm hopeful on Boden but not totally sold yet.

It's not just about goals either. If the ball won't stick up-front it's very difficult to mount sustained forward pressure. It will also bring our midfield and defense under sustained defensive pressure from the better teams.

Even the best defenses will leak goals if they're under constant pressure.

Seeing as it has been 4-4-2 in every pre-season game it seems a pretty safe bet that we'll play 4-4-2.

I was told not worry back in June....I hope Dean will pull a gem out the bag soon. I think Boden has the potential to score twenty but not with the current strikers.

I've no idea what the answer is to the above question but I've seen him play twice and he doesn't look like a nailed on 20 goals per season striker to me even if he had Lukaku next to him

My definition of a 20 goal per season striker would be someone who achieved it in more than half the seasons of their career.Seems fair

Scored 21 in 42 for Macclesfield, scored 15 in one season for Newport in the league above. Hence ICT signing him. Nothing is a sure thing, but he has done it before and is at a good age. I honestly think he can get 20 this season.

I think it helps some players when you have a decent atmosphere and crowd behind them, something he's probably not had at previous clubs.

So, at the moment just one of our strikers has scored 20 goals in a season once in their career?

Oh dear, I think we need a proven striker ASAP or there will be lots of pretty possession football with zero end product, pretty much what I've seen in pre season.

Thankfully DK knows this but I don't subscribe to this "relax we've got until the 31st" theory.We've had since the end of April

It's a shame that we've assembled such a solid looking squad but the striker position is letting us down. Massanka just cannot be relied on to score.
