Scott Quigley is a good player and could do well at Blackpool. Jason Oswall, 51 goals for Newtown moved to Stockport County - two goals last Saturday. There are some good players in the WPL who have made the transition to National League - Sam Lawley ex-TNS & Wrexham, Henry Jones, ex-Bangor City, last season's WPL young player of last season - both of AFC Fylde and fellow scorers last Saturday. On the other hand, Keates has tracked a player formerly of Rushall Olympic a feeder league side and signed him albeit on loan, namely Alex Reid, who made a good impression v Gateshead. In my view, it would be a risk signing Matt in view of his recent injury problems. Have heard from a reliable source that Keates has indeed bid for Cook but Tranmere need to sign a replacement striker first.

Why the clamour for Matt?

Injury prone and not very good.

Would expect Darlington to recognise potential of WPL players, so perhaps no-one he really rates good enough to make a difference here?

Alabi, the Stoke lad, whoever else, forget Cook, it isnt happenig. Tranmere have signed strikers as usual - Not all will see game time week in week out but they can all score.

He's proven at this level. Unsure where you get the not very good bit from.

Have you seen him play or just looked at his scoring record?

On Sunday's evidence I wouldn't mind taking a look at Mclaggon of Barry Town! He's scored a few for Merthyr over the last four years.
