Offset with shared facilities?
The club are unlikely to be able to afford a share of the build costs but will be expecting to share the facilities.
If the Uni build it they will hold all the cards, there may even be nothing underneath the stand apart from toilet facilities and catering for us to share.

Good move for the Uni if they do build their own accommodation. They would then be in control and possibly relocate other accommodation in their ownership.
Wrexham Village might find themselves under competition for spaces and therefore might feel it best to sell off their flats.
Difficult to understand Wrexham Councils planning position in that they have granted permission for student accommodation all over the town - some of which is now used - lets say - not for students. HMO's and general lets.

A few years ago the WST held meetings with a consultant and the Uni about the possibilities of redeveloping the Tech End stand on the same lines as Burnley FC. They have a similar situation with their Uni in that the stands incorporate lecture rooms, community rooms and is a viable venue for concerts etc. Makes sense to do this at the Kop end and also to not lay plans open to all and sundry to then hold them/us to ransom (I just have, sorry).

I was told that the university had made an offer for the land at the back of the kop including the floodlight area and down to the road including the old turnstile area only. This would now make sense as they have stated that they don't want all of the land leaving the old garage buildings and rear carpark available for Moss to sell separately to someone else ?.

Cardiff City stadium has large open plan rooms that overlook the pitch and are loaned out for training events, business seminars, conferences etc....

Improved facilities etc.
That would mean a new contract.

That would be 1 of the 2 plots that the estate agents had for sale, with the garage site being the most expensive of the 2 as it shared a front on Mold Road.

Good move for GU but club need to be careful and look for some guarantees against the kop development and the future.

No doubt it will be clarified in time.
Where the Universities current student accommodation is l, it's meant to be getting redeveloped I believe as blocks of student flats ( the building between the roundabout and Tennis Centre), perhaps this is what's causing the confusion?
