Default Louis Moult transfer dilemma

Stephen Robinson the Motherwell manager reported the following:-
Louis is ambitious and he has scored a lot of goals which has brought interest from other clubs, but the reality is nobody offered the right money for him.
We won't undersell him and my point to the board was if we keep him we can finish one or two places higher in the league that more than pays for what we could have made with a transfer. ( end of report.)
I do not know what the finishing payments for 2017/18 are, but for 2016/17 for finishing 4th £1,600,000 and for finishing 8th £1,200,000
Looking at it in this light any bid in the region of £400,000 would be impossible to accept.
My own thoughts are in this day and age he is worth at least £1 million.

There’s only one club in Scotland with that kind of money right now. & they aren’t interested.
Best chance is if a English Championship team are willing to take a punt on him.

Heard QPR were sniffing around weren't they? Surely a Championship club would go for him now, he's banging them in for fun.

It is typical of us to sell a striker with a hefty sell on who bangs them in and gains rave reviews at a level with good exposure for THREE SEASONS only to see him leave them for nothing, screwing us!

Not expecting anything out of this, and hope to be presently surprised!

Pleased for Moult though!

His second goal v Aberdeen yesterday was a class finish.
50 in 95 games now. That’s some rate.

A bit like the dilema we have. Sign a new striker, hopefully improve our quality and score some more goals.
Crowds increase and more money through due to it so it pays for itself.
Just reaching the play off semi with a home leg would do this......

I think we need to face up to the fact that we're going to get nothing for him.

As he continues to score demand for him will go up. But as his contract runs out, his value goes down.

No one is going to spend a decent wedge on him with only 6 months left on his contract. Your looking at a championship club maybe spending 200k or something with the hope that his goals will effect their season, by getting them in the playoffs or keeping them up.

But as above, at that price Motherwell are unlikely to sell.

If he had a couple of years left on his contract, your looking at a couple of million. But sadly that's not the case.
