A very interesting and insightful article. Of course there will be sympathy for their fans. We know how close we were to oblivion before the fans saved the club. But personally I’d be wary of who/what I’m donating to as far as Pools are concerned. Certainly not to the corporate body who got them in this mess in the first place which now wants to wash its hands of them. A monthly wage bill of £200k is way above most clubs including I suspect ours. They’ve overstretched to shaft the likes of us and it’s backfired. If people shake a bucket at you I suggest you only dig deep if it’s their supporters trust who are shaking it. I can see them having to start a Phoenix club like the jesters and start again down the pyramid.

200% does great stuff - and documented our plight better than others by a long way - and is worth chucking a few quid to a month to him / them https://www.patreon.com/twohundredpercent

That’s a very good point and thanks for highlighting it

Jeff seems to have his finger on the pulse.

What if the fans raise 200k and the club still goes bust? Whilst far from ideal administration may be the only way for some to get any money.

More likely a few weeks.

So be it. Whilst I appreciate it’s only an example, that’s not a particularly huge sum of money in business terms.

My issue is that historically going into administration was a way of sorting your finances out but it gives little thought to those it affects; namely creditors.

But it begs the question what is a football club? Supporters don’t really care about whether the wider business is stable.

When went into admin, the company was wound up and Wrexham Football Club (2006) Ltd was born.

Brilliant article and anyone going to make a donation please make it to the
supporter's trust and not the sleaze bags that are currently running the club.

I was listening to Mark Clemmet on radio 5 yesterday afternoon. They were discussing the plight at Hartlepool and said they have decent owners for years who ran a tight ship but were accused of not being ambitious enough so sold out.
