Rugby is a fantastic game. It has power, pace, flair, drama and some of the most unique set-pieces in any game. Unfortunately, either through lack of knowledge or deliberately being facetious people criticise the game as being “a load of fatties running after an egg”. It’s the same kind of stupidity from the other side when you hear such comments as “they’re all a bunch of premadonnas who dive about pretending they’re hurt”. Half-witted and sweeping generalisation at its finest.

I am a football man first, but love rugby union as well - I can’t fathom how the love of both has to be mutually exclusive.

I suppose I agree on one thing there are plenty of daffodil wearing people that jump on the 6 Nations bandwagon, but us rugby fans who aren’t like this and enjoy the intriacies and nuances of international rugby all year shouldn’t be tarred with the same brush.
Well said

I'm not into rugby either Phil. Just can't get my head round Radio Wales going on and on about it and in particular as if this six nations thing is something akin to the World Cup. Suppose its a South Wales thing where the game is probably drummed into you from an early age . Mum looks after you on the sidelines then takes you home while dad gets drunk after the match etc. At the end of the day it is not much different to boxing or any fighting sport.

Cant agree with that, physical yes, but it is much more than that .

The whole theatre of the 6 nations is absorbing.

So true.

The 6 nations is a fantastic tournament. Every game sold out.

Compare that to the old home internationals football tournament which died a death because nobody was really interested and the countries tended not to play their strongest teams.

Both football and rugby are fantastic sports. I’ll be at the Halifax match on Saturday and will record to rugby to watch when I get home. The best of both worlds.

IF chester are still floundering in a months time, they will struggle to bring 500, especially with it being on TV. Club need to be strong and tell police we want home fans in GUS

Prefer Rugby to football. Certainly better than the dog muck served up at Wrexham the last decade.

Agree. some of it wasn't even football awful rubbish but this year seems an improvement on the last 5 years although it's still not up to the Wrexham standard I fondly remember.

They tell me there is a reasonable train service to South Wales on Saturdays. Have a good time!

I assume you're actually comparing the Welsh national rugby team with a fifth tier football team.
